I moved here (rural Yolo County) in March of this year from the Piedmont Avenue area of Oakland California and finally I am receiving all of my mail. Therein lies the problem. I pick up my mail from a box I rent at a UPS store and yesterday when I went to collect my mail I found a notice telling me that "unfortunately there is not enough business at this UPS store location to warrant keeping it open." So effective in mid-November my mail will be transferred to the other UPS store location in town - unless of course I want to make other arrangements. I get it. There is a recession going on and all. But, but, this year this town has seen the openings of a HUGE new Costco, a Michael's crafts store, a Target Supercenter, a Best Buy, and on and on. I guess all the bay area commuters that bought houses out in the new subdivisions (some 15,000 new residents in the past 12 years) are taking their packages to work with them to ship. Oh well, I guess my bills can just as well arrive at another new address.
I was out picking some veggies from the garden and shot this little guy (before I ate him), just a few green tomatoes left to ripen.
End of this season's crop, and the beginnings of next springs figs...
The flower is the fig...
