Change of address woes

I moved here (rural Yolo County) in March of this year from the Piedmont Avenue area of Oakland California and finally I am receiving all of my mail. Therein lies the problem. I pick up my mail from a box I rent at a UPS store and yesterday when I went to collect my mail I found a notice telling me that "unfortunately there is not enough business at this UPS store location to warrant keeping it open." So effective in mid-November my mail will be transferred to the other UPS store location in town - unless of course I want to make other arrangements. I get it. There is a recession going on and all. But, but, this year this town has seen the openings of a HUGE new Costco, a Michael's crafts store, a Target Supercenter, a Best Buy, and on and on. I guess all the bay area commuters that bought houses out in the new subdivisions (some 15,000 new residents in the past 12 years) are taking their packages to work with them to ship. Oh well, I guess my bills can just as well arrive at another new address.

A cats life

I tried in vain to take a decent photo of my cat Maizey to post here as she spends all day sleeping on the bed in my home office.  All day she sleeps not 4 feet from where I sit at my computer. However, she seems to have a belief that the camera can steal her soul or something because everytime I pick up a camera to shoot a pic of her out she either runs under the bed, out of the room, or turns herself into a little ball leaving no possibility of shooting her beautiful face. She doesn't care when I pick up the camera and head outside. She simply seems to know when it is going to be pointed in her general direction. So... hopefully a cat photo will follow in the upcoming days.
